Top tips for Family Photo shoots
If you are planning a family photo shoot or have recently booked your photo shoot you might be wondering what are the best tips to help me and my children prepare for our session! I have got a few quick and simple things that are the top of my list as a lifestyle family photographer. These will ensure you all enjoy a fun and relaxed session where you can walk away feeling confident and excited about the images you will receive!
Relax and Enjoy the session with them
If you’re playful and silly this will shine through in the photos! All families have silly jokes or games or fun things they do with each other, this is what you want to do in your session!
Bring small mess-free snacks and a drink
Especially for children 6 years and under, this is such a helpful tool for a little mid photo shoot break (applies for full family sessions)
If you’ve booked a Mini Session I recommend having an incentive for the end of the photo shoot, that way we can get the most out of our 20 minutes together!
Don’t worry about how they’ll behave and take the plunge and book
So often I hear parents say they either didn't book or nearly didn't book due to worry about their child's behaviour during a session.
Can I just assure you that after working with children for many years, I know this can be a strange experience for you and them and that is why you hire a professional to make the experience enjoyable and get those smiles and genuine moments from everyone!
(I’ve got 3 small children so I am personally very experienced with dealing with little ones, so leave it to me!)
I also provide a full Family Photography Guide prior to your session which details lots of helpful information about what to expect before, during and after your photo shoot. It also includes styling advice and other tips and tricks to help you feel completely prepared and ready for a fun experience you won't regret booking!
